• What are the dates for camp?

    2022 Camp Smile will be in operation from July 11th to August 5th. Campers may attend 1, 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

  • What are the camp hours?

    Our camp program begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 PM.

  • Where is Camp Smile located?

    Camp Smile located at Kiwanis Lodge in Webster, New York. The Lodge in on Shangri La Lane off Pellet Road. It is a beautiful wooded area, perfect for learning about nature.

  • Does your camp offer transportation?

    All of campers are transported to and from home to camp, door to door. The bus runs are planned after we establish what campers will be attending.

  • Do you have an orientation for new campers?

    On the first day of camp we do a camper orientation, Then as we begin each day we have a review of the day and what to expect. We have had new campers start Week 1 to Week 4. Our Senior Counselors and Counselors are fantastic at introducing them to new friends and showing them around camp!

  • What are the ages of the counselors?

    Counselors shall be at least 16 years of age at a summer day or traveling summer day camp. In addition, the counselor shall either have experience in camping and supervision of children, or have completed a training course acceptable to the permit-issuing official.

    The Camp Director will review and verify a prospective counselor's background and character through reasonable and diligent inquiries, including but not limited to character references submitted.

  • Is your camp certified?

    Children's camps must be inspected twice yearly by a health department representative. At least one inspection must be made during the time the camp is in operation. Each camp is checked to make sure that the physical facilities are safe and that supervision is adequate.In New York State, when a children's program qualifies as a camp, it must have a state, city, or county health department permit to operate legally and must operate in compliance with Subpart 7-2 of the State Sanitary Code requirements. A permit is issued only when the camp is in compliance with the state's health regulations.

    Not all summer programs for children qualify as children's camps. Parents are encouraged to ask the camp director if the camp has a permit from their local health department. Contact the local health department having jurisdiction in the city or county that the camp is located, if you have questions.

  • Are lunch and snacks provided?

    Lunch is provided daily to all campers and counselors. The lunch options vary daily and are often related to the theme of the week! We are able to accommodate your camper’s food and diet needs (e.g., allergies, sensitivities, etc.). At times, campers are involved in practicing their cooking skills in helping prepare lunch! Campers are always welcome to bring their own packed lunch if desired.

  • Is water provided on hot days?

    At Camp Smile, we provide ice cold jugs at water for campers and counselors. If we go on field trips the water is provided there also. We also have cold water bottles on buses for ride home.

  • What if it rains?

    We plan for rainy days and will adjust our schedule as needed.

  • What should my child bring to camp each day?

    We will provide each camper with a Camp Smile bag that will be given out on the first day they attend camp. The Communication folder will be in the bag which will contain important items. Your child should bring a swimsuit and towel in a bag each day (in case it’s hot we will play water games), sunscreen, and extra underwear, just in case of accidents.

    Please label any items that a camper may bring to camp with their name; we do not want anyone misplacing items.

  • What should my child wear to camp?

    Any comfortable clothing suitable for the weather is acceptable at Camp Smile. Closed-toed footwear is preferred to prevent toe injuries. Camp Smile is not responsible for lost articles of clothing, swimwear or accessories.

    Parents are requested to mark their children’s first and last name on all belongings.

  • If my child is having a birthday, do you do something special for them?

    Of course! Every camper who has a birthday during camp season will be recognized with something special during lunch time or at the end of the day!
